Nobody Knows Anybody follows a year in the life of an anthropology student, Maša, who is experiencing an increasing disconnect between the conservative values of her family and a complex world.

Besides daydreaming while listening to Lana Del Rey's music, 21-year-old Maša occupies her time by singing in a women's choir, while her best friend Maks is busy working with refugees who are on the brink of the refugee crisis that is increasingly overwhelming Europe.

Maša is secretly in love with Maks, whom she has known since she was a child. Their parents' friendship ended over differing views of Slovenia's political past and future, and Maša wonders what that means for her own relationship with Maks.

She finds herself in a whirlwind of intimate relationships and situations through which she will have to dismantle, examine and rebuild her identity.

Through music and with her anthropological background, Maša sees hidden fragments that further dispel her idea of the world and all those she was sure she really knew.
